The Komara 12K skimmer relies on adhesion of oil to the surface of a rotating discs. As the discs rotates through the oil/water surface, the oil adheres to the disc and is removed by scrapers. The product is collected in a sump and pumped away by a double diaphragm pump in the hydraulic unit.
The Komara 12K skimmer can be used in a protected water environment where advancing water is no greater than 0.5 knots.
